How to frame your creative expertise?

This article  follows on nicely from the seminar on management and leadership, where we identified different character traits an how this can me applied to management and leadership skills. Understanding what kind of leader you are and what kind of manager you need to be.

This article written by Tara Mohr, on 99U applies a similar technique to understanding the type of creative thinker you are. Of course you can pick out different elements from each description, but when she describes ‘The Called" as being passionate, having vision, provoking change and trusting, I recognised myself.  I do think I have elements of The Cross Trainer and The Survivor!

What I thought was important to the relationships between these types of designers and how working together can compliment the design process.

The Specialist will have a lot of contacts that could be leveraged, The Survivor will inspire.

I identified with her assessment of me… “The Called” as  "The challenge for the called is to trust their sense of calling.“ and her advice is to gather mentors around you that can correct this.
